Lianhe Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The Lianhe Formation was named by Li Zhonghong et al. in 1961. The type locality is in Hetang of the Hengfeng County. The key section is the Hekou – Tangbian section between the Qianshan and Hengfeng counties, Jiangxi (117º41', 28º16').
Lithology and Thickness
The formation is composed of brownish red conglomerate, sandy conglomerate intercalated with sandstone, siltstone and mudstone. It is over 1631 m in thickness.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The formation is overlying the Tangbian Fm conformably
Upper contact
Underlying the Xinyu Fm or Chijiang Fm conformably.
Regional extent
It distributed in Qianshan, Hengfeng, Yuxian, Yongxin, and Guangchang areas.

The formation yields spore and pollen Leiotriletes sp., Botrychium sp., Osmunda sp., Polypodium sp., Ginkgo sp., Podocarpus sp., Pinus sp., Pterocarya sp.; dinosaur egg Elongatoolithus elongates, Macroolithus rugustus, Spheroolithus sp.; gastropods Trancatella maxima, Rubeyella carinata, Viviparus sp., Reesidella sp.
